Clubhouse Certification Fundraising Appeal to Members
Externally, the clubhouse appears finished, but there is a hurdle to overcome.
On 1 December 2017 we applied for $95,000 from the State Government’s Female Facilities
Program to finish fitting out the clubhouse. We were finally advised on 8 June 2018 that we
were not successful. This was a big setback, but we must move on.
So, what is our current financial position on the clubhouse project?
The footprint of the clubhouse is 600m2. To date we have spent $595,884 on the clubhouse,
with $274,570 coming from our club’s savings, which are now reduced almost to operational
reserves only.
What work needs to be done to achieve certification?
1. Payment to Queensland Urban Utilities for infrastructure charges $12,204
2. Shower and toilet partitions and privacy screens $27,083
3. Mechanical ventilation system to toilets and changerooms $11,702
4. Handrails to stairs $ 2,464
5. Small hot water system for kitchen, disabled linemarking and $ 7,547
Bollard,2 fire extinguishers for kitchen, braille signs and tactile
Mats, kerb on wheelchair ramp, attic ladder, final payment to builder
and contingencies.
Total $61,000
Your Management Committee has considered the minimum funding required to achieve
certification and occupation of the clubhouse. The amount required is $61,000. We have an
existing unspent Grant of $20,750 and a clubhouse reserve of $20,250, Totalling $41,000,
so our shortfall is $20,000.
This is our target $20,000
